Sensys Magneto-Resistive Nodes

In 2005 each lane of BHL station # 7 in the east-bound direction, by the Ashby Ave. exit ramp, had magneto-resistive traffic detectors installed in the center of the inductive-loops.

Made by Sensys Networks of Berkeley, CA, these detectors were evaluated by CCIT as a possible replacement for loop detectors. The complete report, “CCIT Task Order 5 - Innovative Transportation Products and Services Evaluation of Wireless Traffic Sensors by Sensys Networks, Inc.”(PDF, 5.4MB), can be downloaded from this site.

If you would like more details about these sensors or would like to inquire about collecting data from them, please feel free to email us at bhl@calccit.org.
